ISLAMABAD: The leader of the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP), Rehman Malik, urged the government to allow former President Asif Ali Zardari to receive treatment from his doctor in Dubai.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, the PPP senator said that Zardari did not deserve this type of treatment and that he was bringing a bad name to the country, since they put him behind bars for charges not proven during his trial.
Mr. Malik, who is also president of the Permanent Commission of the Interior of the Senate, said: "I ask each legislator, member of parliament and cabinet minister to think about the necessary amendments to the law to guarantee the rule of law and stop political victimization instead of fading our image around the world for imprisoning our leaders. "
He said that Mr. Zardari's medical report submitted to the Standing Committee of the Interior of the Senate by the prison authorities showed that his health is decreasing day by day, therefore, he must continue to receive treatment in the hospital and he will be allowed to receive his Treatment according to your choice. from his old doctor in Dubai.
He said that Asif Zardari's blood platelets were falling rapidly, which could be deadly for him.
Malik said the prime minister, Imran Khan, must realize that the country was going through a very crucial stage, especially in the wake of the Indian aggression against the guests, the unfinished agenda of Kashmir and the uncertain situation in Afghanistan. "This situation guarantees collective wisdom and national unity," he added.
He urged the prime minister to immediately convene a multi-party conference and to put the economic and security situation of the country beforehand and move forward with the collective strategy and political consensus that was the need of the moment.
