Turkish rebels of the Syrian armies across the Syrian border are also involved in the attack.

A fierce battle was reported in northern Syria on the second day of the Turkish offensive against the Kurdish region of Turkey.

Turkey has reportedly killed dozens of Kurdish militants by depriving them of a number of designated targets.

Tens of thousands of people were known to have escaped the house, and the Kurds reported several civilian deaths.

Turkey says it wants to create a "safe area" without the Kurdish militia, which will also accommodate millions of Syrian refugees.

Long-term attacks in Turkey began after President Donald Trump withdrew US troops from the region, held by the Syrian Democratic Party (SDF), led by the Kurds. The SDF was the main ally of the United States in the war with the Islamic State (IS), but Turkey considers their dominant Kurdish militia to be a terrorist.

Many people in the United States, including some of Trump's Republican allies, saw the withdrawal lighting green in Turkey, but Secretary of State Mike Pompeo refused Wednesday. SDF said they were "trapped behind."

President Trump tweeted that he would end the "endless war" on Thursday, adding: "If Turkey doesn't follow the rules, Turkey is very financially sanctioned. He is also" talking with both sides, "he said.

The offensive was criticized internationally. The UN Security Council will be discussed at the request of five EU member states (UK, France, Germany, Belgium and Poland) as of Thursday.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan strongly defended this invasion, threatening to send Syrian refugees to Europe if Turkey's attack was described as an occupation.

What is happening on the earth?

Kurdish sources reported a major attack between Ras Al Ain and Tal Avid cities in the central region of the northern border with Turkey and Syria.

Turkish support of the free Syrian army participated in the Syrian rebel battle.

The area has very little population and is primarily inhabited by Arabs. Ras Al Ain was hit by numerous air strikes.

The Turkish Defense Ministry said on Twitter that the operations were successful, both on land and in the air. According to reports, many villages east of Tal Avid are occupied.

Erdogan said 109 militants were killed, wounded or arrested in the initial battle. SDF said the figures were exaggerated.

The Syrian Human Rights Observatory, a British surveillance group, said at least 16 SDF fighters were killed and dozens were injured.

Kurdish Red Crescent has said at least seven civilians have been killed so far, two of whom have suffered serious injuries, four of them and four of them more than 19.

The Syrian observatory said that since the attack began, more than 60,000 people fled because most of the cities of Ras al-Ain and Darvasi were devastated.

Kurdish officials said Turkey was imprisoned in "obvious attempts" to help IS prisoners in Qamishli, east of the border region, escape from prison.

The BBC's Orla Guerin also said at least three rounds of artillery fire hit at the main street of the Turkish village Akcakale, killing at least one inhabitant.

What resistance does the Kurds have?

The Syrian Democratic Party (SDF), led by the Kurds, now has about 40,000 fighters and tens of thousands of other Kurdish security services, according to Kurdish sources.

The US Joint Task Force on Operation for IS in Iraq and Syria described them as "strong soldiers with basic military training to function as infantry."

However, some tanks may have antitank missiles, but they lack heavy weapons that can be used for tanks or aircraft.

In carrying out operations against the IS, they relied on the close support of the Allied forces, but would be vulnerable to air and artillery attacks in the flat and open countries of the northern Syrian border.

Turkey considers the Kurdish YPG militia (the dominance of the SDF) as an extension of the forbidden Kurdish Labor Party, and has struggled for the Kurdish autonomy of Turkey for 30 years.

Deal partnership

On Wednesday, Trump told a press conference that the Turks and Kurds "fought each other for centuries." Kurdish fighters "did not help us in World War II, but they did not help us. [the D-Day landings in] Normandy ".

Even by Trump's remarkable standards, this cuff statement that leads the US alliance with the Kurds is extraordinary.

For Mr. Trump, the alliance is simply transactional – judging business contracts based on cruel and short-term cost-benefit analysis. What is the United States giving and what is the price?

In the opinion of the Kurds, the United States suggested that other allies in the region could be easily found. Really? Did he already forget the recent history? The Kurds were the only competent local allies in the fight against IS.

But what will President Trump do about Turkey not by chance in Normandy? This has become a major test of Turkey's position in NATO, and many are afraid it is far from a trusted alliance in the West.

How does the attack affect the IS situation?

SDF says there are more than 12,000 suspected IS members in seven prisons, at least 4,000 of which are foreigners. The exact location was not disclosed, but some are close to the Turkish border.

Two camps (Roj and Ain Issa), which hold a family of suspected IS members, are within the "safe zone". It is not clear if the Kurds continue to hold prison when the battle continues.

The US military said it detained two infamous British prisoners for their role in the IS cell, which tortured and killed nearly 30 Western hostages.

El Shafee Elsheikh and Alexanda Kotey were part of the British army, nicknamed the Beatles.

They are now removed from prisons run by Kurdish militias in northern Syria.
