The government's main spokesman, Firdous Ashiq Awan, said Wednesday that Prime Minister Imran Khan ordered the Punjab government "to ensure that Nawaz Sharif receives the best possible care according to his family's wishes."
In a post on Twitter, he said the prime minister had sought a detailed report from the Punjab government about the former prime minister's health.
Awan also said the prime minister "prayed for Sharif and wished him a speedy recovery."
Nawaz was transferred to the Hospital of Services late Monday night after his condition worsened, which was confirmed by his new government test.
The head of the multidisciplinary medical board at the Hospital of Services, Professor Dr. Mahmood Ayaz, said DawnNewsTV that the former prime minister's body had experienced a drastic fall in the cells responsible for blood clotting (platelets).
"Yesterday we had carried out a platelet transfusion. Today, your condition has improved markedly. Our board met today and recommended some more evidence. We will be in a better position to comment once those results are available," he said.
When asked if the board had been able to determine why Nawaz had experienced such a sudden drop in platelets, Dr. Ayaz responded negatively, saying that blood tests had been ordered for the same purpose.
"The meeting will meet again this afternoon. We hold meetings two or three times a day so that nothing is missing in their diagnosis and subsequent treatment."
Dr. Ayaz said that the platelet count was being monitored and that if deemed necessary, another transfusion will be performed to maintain the desired platelet level.
He said Nawaz's health, otherwise, "is fine."
NAB condemns & # 39; irresponsible and unfounded accusations & # 39;
In a press release issued today, the National Office of Responsibility "strongly condemned the irresponsible and unfounded accusations" that Nawaz's transfer to the hospital had been delayed.
"As soon as Nawaz Sharif was transferred from the Kot Lakhpat Prison to the Lahore subcarcel, to combat any emergency medical situation, a modern cardiac ambulance of the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) was organized along with three doctors.
"In addition, certified doctors had been made available 24 hours a day at the NAB Lahore dispensary and we had already obtained Rescue 1122 ambulance services," the NAB statement said.
The anti-corruption control body said it "strongly rejects" all that "unfounded, fabricated and contrary to the truth" political propaganda, which suggests otherwise.
NAB also rejected the idea that Nawaz was not allowed to meet with his personal doctor, Dr. Adnan, or seek treatment.
The Office reported three times that Dr. Adnan had met Nawaz: October 11, 19 and 21, during which he said that samples had also been collected for various tests.
"It is the medication prescribed by Dr. Adnan only what Nawaz Sharif has been taking regularly. These were shipped daily in a package along with the meal," the statement said.
NAB, in its statement, also said that Nawaz had chosen not to use medical facilities waiting for its use, including doctors, paramedical personnel, ambulances, etc.
"He remained reluctant, while in the custody of NAB in Lahore, to a check-up by any doctor other than Dr. Adnan. Even to obtain blood samples, the special paramedical personnel of the Sharif Medical Complex were called.
"Therefore, allegations to the contrary made by certain elements are nothing more than a product of one's imagination."
The Office, in its statement, tried to clarify that on Monday, while Dr. Adnan alerted NAB at 8:41 p.m. of unsatisfactory laboratory results, he could not provide a copy of the reports, and it was only through his tweet at 9 p.m. They were known.
NAB said that as soon as it went into action to transfer Nawaz to the hospital, Nawaz continued to vehemently oppose the measure. He noted that the formation of a meeting, the provision of a special room along with a special route for the trip were organized expeditiously and Shahbaz Sharif was given permission to meet him, which Nawaz agreed to go.
"Then he spent more than an hour preparing to go to the hospital, including packaging, etc.," the statement said, adding: "All the details are available in the registry."
& # 39; Callous, fascist government & # 39;
The PML-N spokesman, Marriyum Aurangzeb, in a rebuttal to Awan's statement, said that "she (Marriyum) does not even consider it worth answering."
"These rented representatives are not worth it; it is better not to answer them," he said.
Speaking about NAB, Aurangzeb said the Office "is not qualified for MBBS and cannot do everything it wants."
She confirmed that tests were being conducted to investigate the drop in Nawaz platelet levels. "We had alerted the authorities many times about their poor health, but each time they turned a blind eye."
"The current government is an insensitive and fascist government," said the leader of the PML-N, adding: "They have nothing to use through the performance of Nawaz Sharif during their tenure, and now they are playing political games for their health. ".
