Houstoners craving Luby's LuAnn Platter or Fuddruckers cheeseburgers can now deliver doors in less than an hour.
Luby & # 39; s Inc., a Houston-owned owner of two restaurant chains, recently partnered with Austin-based Favor Delivery to deliver on-demand delivery at about 80 Ruby restaurants across Texas and 16 Fuddruckers restaurants in the Houston area. Customers can order online using the Favor website or mobile app.
Todd Coutee, Luby's chief operating officer, said the Favor partnership is a "natural expansion" in which the relationship with H-E-B, which acquired a delivery company to deliver courier at hundreds of grocery stores last year, is growing. The partnership between H-E-B and Luby began in 2016, when the grocery store began selling Luby's frozen entrees and side dishes such as classic mac and cheese, broccoli rice casserole and chicken tetra genies.

Luby & # 39; s has joined more and more restaurant chains across the country that are partnering with delivery companies as customers familiar with online shopping expect the same click-and-ship convenience in restaurants. Some restaurants, such as Carrabba's company location, have installed special delivery windows and redesigned takeout boxes to accommodate increasingly popular food delivery.
Considering several "strategic alternatives" including possible sales, Luby & # 39; s has 125 restaurants nationwide, including 79 Luby & # 39; s Cafeterias, 45 Fuddruckers and 1 Cheeseburger in Paradise Operate. The company is also a franchise in the 102 Fuddruckers regions of the United States, Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Panama. The company also has a culinary service department serving food to hospitals, corporate restaurants, sports venues and grocery stores.
