The finance ministers of the European Union will eliminate Switzerland and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) next week from the lists of countries in the block that are considered tax havens, according to an EU document.
On 10 October, the UAE is removed from the blacklist, which includes jurisdictions that have not cooperated with the EU in tax matters. The Pacific archipelago of the Marshall Islands will also be removed from that list.
Switzerland will be removed from the gray list that includes countries that have pledged to change their tax rules so that they meet EU standards. Switzerland has fulfilled its commitments, according to the document.
