ISLAMABAD: To track cases of child abuse and child abduction in the country, Prime Minister Imran Khan instructed the relevant authorities on Tuesday to build a mobile application and call it "Mera Bachcha Alert."
According to the press release from the Office of the Prime Minister (PMO), the application will be created within two weeks after which information about the affected child will be distributed to all provincial police general inspectors and other senior police officers. Mera Bachcha Alert will link up with the Pakistan Citizen Portal to monitor the progress of the cases.
The prime minister told the federal cabinet on Tuesday that progress had been made in the investigation of cases of child abuse and abduction that will help in the arrests of the accused.
He said the parents hesitated to highlight cases of child abuse due to social and other reasons. "The current government will take measures that will guarantee the protection of children and grant exemplary punishment to those involved in such heinous crimes," he said.
