Houston’s most expensive ZIP codes for renters

According to the new RentCafe report, three nearby Houston postal codes are one of the most important places to rent an apartment in Texas.

According to the apartment search website RentCafe, the 77005 postal code, which includes the surrounding areas of West University Place and Ryu University, has an average apartment rent in 2019 of $ 2,033. The average rent of 77005 has decreased 1.1{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} since last year.

The rent for 77006, including the Montrose region, was $ 1,997, an increase of 0.31{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} on average.

The 77002 postal code rent in downtown averaged $ 1,970, an increase of 0.4{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} year over year.

In the state's most expensive market, rates have risen sharply while rents have fallen or locked in the most expensive Houston postal codes.

The most expensive Texas postal code for an apartment is 78701 in downtown Austin, with an average rent of $ 2,885, an increase of 8.7{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} year-on-year. The second most expensive fare near Highland Park in Dallas is 75205, with the rent rising 6.4{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} to $ 2,791.

The rent of the most expensive zip code in the US for 10282 apartments in Manhattan averages $ 6,211 or more than three times higher than Houston's top market. RentCafe has surveyed more than 130 markets to determine the most expensive postal codes.
