Ikram Sehgal resigned as director and chairman of the K-Electric (KE) board on Wednesday "for personal reasons," a spokesman for the utility said in a statement.
The board of directors of KE had elected Sehgal as president in January after the resignation of former president Tayyab Tareen.
In accordance with the requirement of the Business Ordinance, 1984 and KE regulations, the board of directors of KE will appoint a new president at its next meeting, the statement said.
With over 40 years of business experience, Ikram Sehgal is the president of Pathfinder Group Pakistan, which employs several thousand people throughout Pakistan.
A veteran of the armed forces, Sehgal is the author of several books and has served on the boards of many companies, including Bank Alfalah, for 16 years.
