District 7 opens first restaurant outside urban core at Energy Corridor

The 7th military restaurant extends into the suburbs with a new location on the ground floor of the West Memorial Place office campus in the energy hallway. The new restaurant at 15375 Memorial Drive overlooks Terry Hershey Park and features an outdoor lounge area with a pet-friendly environment.

The dining group in Houston has signed a 2,200 square foot lease with Skanska, the developer and owner of the campus. JLL represented Skanska and District 7 in the lease.

Founded in 2003 by Babak and Shelley Elham, District 7 serves urban American cuisine in seven locations throughout Midtown and downtown. Restaurants include the 7th District Grill, Main Area, Basement 7, Table 7 Bistro, and Taco District and Pizza. The menu is the same as the main district and offers hand throwing pizzas and other items in addition to smoothies for office tenants and locals.

“For seventeen years, the District 7 restaurant has become mainstream in downtown and Midtown Houston,” said Shelley Elham. "We saw the opportunity to expand into the energy corridor in a new location that offers delicious meals that are identical to the panoramic views of Terry Hershey Park."

District 7 Memorial features a daily bar with happy hour specials, indoor and outdoor seating, games and free Wi-Fi. The grand opening is held on November 6 and 7 for the restaurant and is open 7 days a week offering lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.

This restaurant offers new amenities to residents of West Memorial Place. West Memorial Place has a locker room and fitness center with shower, on-site catering through Fooda, car wash service, bike sharing program and Enterprise CarShare location. Tenants include BP Lower 48, PGS, Siemens, and Venari Resources.
