He cited in the documents that the release of the footage was an invasion of his privacy.The official statement of the submitted petition shared that “public dissemination of this material would cause serious and irreparable harm to [Timberlake’s] personal and professional reputation, theme [Timberlake] to public ridicule and harassment, and serve no legitimate public interest.”His lawyer also cited that releasing the images would reveal and “expose very personal details unrelated to public oversight of government operations.” Timberlake and his legal team filed the complaint in Suffolk County Supreme Court. They also requested that Timberlake and his legal representatives review the body camera footage. The release of the video had been requested under the Freedom of Information Act.
