Palghar: 57-year-old man dies of Covid-19 in Nalasopara hospital | Mumbai News

MUMBAI: A 57-year-old man from Nalasopara died on Monday of Covid-19 in a private hospital.
With this, the death toll in the Palghar district has risen to five. Four of these deaths are in the Vasai-Virar region.
The patient was admitted to the private hospital in Nalasopara (west) on April 4. He tested positive and underwent treatment.
The total number of positive cases in the district is 36 (excluding deaths). All positive cases are from the Vasai-Virar region. The results of 161 people in the district are expected, while 259 reports have been negative.
Deaths in the region include that of a nine-month-old and 30-year-old pregnant woman who died at BYL Nair hospital on April 4. The baby could not be saved either. Two men in their 60s from Vasai also succumbed to Covid-19 at the Nalasopara hospital on April 2 and 5.
Covid-19's first death in the district was reported on March 31 when a 50-year-old Saphale man died.
