UFC 244 Preview: BMF titles are silly, but you have to choose at least one side.

The UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship) will play sharks quietly on Saturday. At the conclusion of the UFC 244 pay-per-view-view (PPV) main event, the night of the worst mother, or “BMF,” in New York (November 2, 2019). I know the cool kids are chasing each other through the headliner of Jorge Mas Vidal and Nate Diaz. It was claimed as a battle between the east and west coast "gangsters". Did they make a belt that helped their boss do a good job and make a lot of money for the company?

It's the same kind of thing you can win against a real gang. Then you can steal fake gangs and pay a few more dollars. Bullets aren't cheap these days. After the UFC 244 main event, a fake belt is provided by fake fighters. Hi, I like Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as much as others, but I'm throwing fake punches for a living as a Hollywood action hero who has become a World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion. BMF Nonsense is a clever way for UFC to market a major event where they lost their original title fight between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, which will now be titled UFC 245 in Las Vegas next month.

But as the situation has been silly over the past few weeks, at least thanks to Dana White and Co. forcing fans to choose the side. I do not mean “I support Masvidal boyeeeeee” … I mean the other two sides, the fight against sports. Every time I post something in the professional wrestling world, I receive regular and powerful emails from self-appointed purists who demand resignation because they are "fake" and not rude to martial arts. Then take classes on honor, integrity and yadda-yadda-yadda. Karate Black Belts competing in the UFC have received a backstage bounty for multiple knockouts, so stick with Tojo if you want all your honour. Do you feel like learning from traditional martial arts? Maybe if your sense is John Kreese.

There is also a problem with the way the BMF titles cast long shadows on two very talented combatants. Should a veteran with a story like Masvidal and Diaz have to believe that they can't promote with their own merits? Masvidal (34-13) has been competing in UFC for over six years, giving Ben Askren his first professional loss in a cool journey. He looks good, speaks well and has a huge background. The same is true for Diaz (20-11), who captured the Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 trophy and sent Conor McGregor for the first defeat in Octagon. Hateers like Colby Covington and Leon Edwards complain about the “BMF” main event, where a combatant with a double-digit loss appears. Loss is inevitable when you start building this kind of number.

But because “bad” is enough, no one seems to talk about it. If you don't like professional wrestling, think your business has no junk talk, or want your MMA to be treated like a real sport, then you should equally criticize the BMF belt and everything about it. Because Masvidal and Diaz are “cold” or “weak”, they can't play hops or slip things in moral terms. Or we forget everything, sit back and relax and play MMA with the old “King of the Old Mountain” game where we used to play with children. Everyone does what they need to do to get to the top and once they arrive, they get the right to boast

Until the next “king” comes and takes his place.
