"Junior" recently announced a move to 135 pounds and posted a picture of his slim physique. He is likely to come back shortly with Alexander Volkanovski in UFC 237 last May. This loss led to Aldo's two victories, and eventually he moved for the first time in his career.
Interestingly, Moraes campaigned for a fight against fellow nations, and it seems more than the UFC is willing to comply. Moraes missed the bid to grab an empty 135 pound string after losing to Henry Cejudo in a three-round knockout at UFC 238 earlier this year (see). The defeat won four victories in “magic”, giving him a second defeat in the octagon.
Winners here can be hit hard in the rankings, but winning a championship fight is not an absolute conclusion. The UFC has also booked a 135 pound confrontation between Urijah Faber and Peter Yan for the same event, meaning that the winner of the match can have a solid case for the title.
UFC 245 will be headline to the Welterweight title fight. Division Kingpin, Kamaru Usman confronts Colby Covington and Max Holloway confronts Featherweight belt with Alexander Volkanovski. Amanda Nunes, finishing the trio of the title fight, defends the women's Bantamweight title against Germaine de Randamie.
