The statement said Turkey will soon make long-term plans for northern Syria.
"US forces will not support or engage in operations, and US troops defeating ISIS 'territory" Caliphate "will no longer be in immediate territory."
The White House statement also said Turkey will assume full responsibility for the fighters of Islamic State (IS) groups that have been arrested for the past two years.
"The U.S. government forced France, Germany, and other European countries to take many ISIS fighters and get them back, but they did not want and refused.
"The United States will cost taxpayers many years and cost a lot of money."
The White House statement came a day after Erdogan said that the Turkish invasion would soon occur.
In a phone call with President Trump, Prime Minister Erdogan complained that there was no progress in establishing a "safe zone" in northeastern Syria along the border with Turkey, which NATO allies agreed in August.
Turkey wants to save fighters from Kurdish YPG militias considering terrorist organizations.
The YPG was a major part of the Syrian democratic army that supported the United States in defeating IS in Syria.
Turkey also wants to move 2 million Syrian refugees from its territory to the area. Turkey now houses 3.6 million Syrians, who are refuges in the conflict.
