The leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Shehbaz Sharif, declared on Sunday that the government and the opposition were "united like a rock" on the issue of Kashmir and warned the world against the "Fascist Modi".

His comments come two days after Prime Minister Imran Khan, in his speech at the United Nations General Assembly, highlighted human rights abuses by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. The region has been under a blockade and a communications blackout imposed by the Indian nationalist government of India before stripping the occupied territory of its autonomy on August 5.

In another tweet, Sharif said Pakistan is a "responsible nuclear state" and that the country's contributions to keep the people of the world were "well documented." He also highlighted the successful efforts of the Pakistan Army to eliminate terrorist groups from different parts of the country.
