Houston sports tech company raises $1.3M

SEATz, based in Houston, a technology company that wants to change the way spectators buy food at sports venues, raised $ 1.3 million to continue technology development.

Goal: line up for hot dogs and beers and don't miss the big play. The sEATz app allows fans to order food from their seats and the company's "runners" provide food. sEATz also offers quick pickup and server options.

Aaron Knape, CEO of sEATz, said, “We have seen a desire for this type of service from the beginning, and we have seen the difficulties of implementation and the failures of others. "We are excited about the unique models we have built that have overcome these challenges and the opportunity to expand them next year."

The company was founded in 2018 and works at the Canon startup hub in West Houston. The mobile app serves fans of the Houston Texas football team, the Corpus Christi Hooks minor league baseball team, the University of Houston, Rice University and South Mississippi.

Houston has over 100 contractors who are asking for tips. The app generates revenue by receiving a revenue share for the product, charging customers a convenience fee, and charging advertising vendors.

The $ 1.3 million will be used to advance the technology, including a platform where practitioners and place owners can manage events in real time and add new features for their fans. These features may include in-game discount specials and reward programs.
