Bleyl Engineering acquires Austin-based civil engineering firm


Conroe-based Bleyl Engineering has a stronger foundation in the center of Texas with the acquisition of Austin-based Garrett-Ihnen Civil Engineers.

Bleyl Engineering, a civil engineering company that specializes in the design of urban and private development projects, will integrate its Southern Austin and Garrett-Inen offices at 12007 Technology Blvd.

With the addition of 14 employees at Garrett-Ihnen, Bleyl Engineering has grown to 82 employees, including 26 licensed engineers.

John Bleyl, President and CEO of Bleyl Engineering, said, “We are very excited about the opportunity to gain greater presence in Austin. "We plan to bring extensive public work experience and bring it here and grow further."


Garrett-Ihnen President Steven Ihnen currently serves as Regional Manager of Bleyl Engineering in Austin. Garrett-Ihnen is renamed Bleyl Engineering in 2020.

Bleyl Engineering handles projects such as water supply and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, transportation, drainage and land development.
