4 injured in second blast targeting police in a week

At least two police officers and the same number of civilians were injured in an explosion on Quetta Spinny Road on Monday, police sources said.

The aim of the explosion, carried out using an improvised explosive device (IED), was a police mobile, the sources added.

The explosives were planted on a motorcycle parked on the side of the road and detonated when the police vehicle passed along the road. As a result, two policemen and two civilians were injured.

Television images showed that the explosion left the police cell phone partially damaged, while at least one car parked nearby was completely damaged.

The injured were taken to the trauma center of the Civil Hospital of Quetta, where an emergency was imposed.

Police and Border Corps personnel rushed to the site when an investigation into the incident began.

This is the second explosion aimed at security forces within a week in the capital of Baluchistan. On Tuesday night, a Rapid Response Force sniper was martyred and another 10, five security personnel and the same number of civilians, were injured in a bomb blast that shook the busy Double Road area of ​​Quetta .

Earlier this month, opposition lawmakers in the Balochistan Assembly had demanded the creation of an investigation committee to investigate the growing terrorist attacks in the province.
