In change of plan, JUI-F to now march to Islamabad on October 31 – Pakistan

In change of plan JUI F to now march to Islamabad

The head of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), Fazlur Rehman, announced Wednesday that the anti-government party & # 39; Azadi March & # 39; from his party to the capital will now take place on October 31 instead of October 27.

Speaking to reporters, he said the party would now join the cashmere to observe October 27 as a black day across the country in protest against the Indian occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

Ignoring calls from other opposition parties to delay the proposed long march, Rehman had announced last Thursday that his party had decided to hold the anti-government march to Islamabad on October 27.

His party had formally requested permission from the Islamabad administration to celebrate the so-called Azadi March on October 27 in D-Chowk, located in the red zone of the federal capital.

"The JUI-F will celebrate the Azadi march on October 27, 2019 in D-Chowk, Islamabad, exercising its democratic and constitutional right under articles 16 and 17 of the Constitution against the government in office," said a request presented to the chief commissioner of Islamabad on Tuesday by the leader of the JUI-F, Senator Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, through his lawyer Kamran Murtaza.

But Rehman said today that the march "will begin" on October 27. He said the caravans will express solidarity with the cashmere on October 27 and then depart for the capital.

"We have decided to enter Islamabad on October 31," said the head of the JUI-F, explaining that the days after October 27 will allow caravans from distant districts of the country to reach the capital. "People from all over the country will enter [Islamabad] at the same time."

He said that the provincial chapters of the JUI-F were asked to hold their individual demonstrations to express solidarity with Kashmir occupied on October 27, indicating that the party has dedicated that day exclusively to the Kashmir cause.

When asked if he would board an event on October 27, Rehman said he could not reveal his agenda at this time.

The announcement of the JUI-F chief came hours after the Minister of Interior retired, Brig Ijaz Shah repeated that he firmly believes that Rehman will not come to Islamabad for the Azadi March on October 27.

"Fazlur Rehman is a great [politician], remained in politics throughout his life, his father was also a politician. In my opinion, as I say, […] Maulana Sahib will not come, I believe this because this is [politically] suicidal, "he said earlier in the day.

The minister added that Indian forces had annexed occupied Kashmir on October 27, 1947, and now "the JUI-F wants to hold a sit-in on the same date, reflecting that they will come to annex Islamabad? At that time? [1947] it was Nehru, they [the JUI-F leadership] I wouldn't like to join those ranks. "

"I hope that, God willing, do not hold the sitting," he said.
