The government cut tariffs on trucks imported into the UK in the case of Brexit without a deal.

This action begins after the RHA (Road Transport Association) has forced the government to collect all tariffs.

Instead, during the first year after Britain left the EU, the government cuts tariffs from 22{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} to 10{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5}.

Trucks sold to the UK are currently not subject to tariffs. RHA says it should continue even for Brexit, which says nothing.

A spokesman for the Road Transport Association said, "10{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} tariff is better than 22{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} tariff."

She said the association will continue to lobby the government.

This change is one of three amendments to the tariff system that will be effective if the UK leaves the EU without trading (originally released in March).

The ministry said the amendment would include a tariff change on bioethanol imported into the UK.

In addition, more categories of clothing shipped to the UK are subject to a 8{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} to 12{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} tax.
