ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has ordered provincial governments to guarantee the stability of prices of roti (bread) and wheat flour in the provinces so that these essential items are provided to people at affordable prices.
The directive was issued at a federal cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Khan here Tuesday.
"During the meeting, the Prime Minister issued directives for the Ministry of Food Security and all provincial governments to ensure that prices of roti and wheat flour do not increase at any level," Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Information, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said at a press conference following the cabinet meeting.
The prime minister, he said, also emphasized that the authorities involved should make frequent visits to warehouses and downs so that no one can accumulate wheat and wheat flour and that these items should be available to people at reasonable prices.
In response to a question, Dr. Awan refuted the impression of a conspiracy regarding a failure developed in the prime minister's special plane when he was heading to the country after attending the session of the UN General Assembly in New York . “It was a technical fault that can develop at any time in the machinery. There was no definite agenda behind, so there is no need to conduct any investigation on the matter, ”he added.
"Prime Minister Imran Khan is safe, as he has prayers of 220 million people in the country and throughout the Muslim world because he has become a leader of the Muslim ummah," he said.
Responding to a question about reports of a possible reorganization in the federal cabinet, he said: "It is the correct and unique prerogative of the prime minister to make any changes to his team and the cabinet at any stage and no one can challenge him."
However, Dr. Awan said a section of the media had published news that the prime minister wanted to replace it. She claimed that the prime minister had appreciated her work during the cabinet meeting and assured her that she would continue working in her current capacity.
The SAPM said the cabinet meeting also discussed dengue fever that currently affects the country and that the prime minister ordered provincial governments to design a joint strategy for the prevention of deadly disease over the next four years. He assured the provinces that the Center would provide them with all the assistance to fight the disease.
On Mr. Khan's recent visit to the United States to attend the UNGA session, Dr. Awan said the prime minister had informed cabinet members of his 120 meetings and interactions with world leaders during his stay in the United States and noted that several of them (world leaders) were not aware of the serious violations of human rights in Kashmir in India and the false narrative of Islamophobia before such meetings.

The SAPM said that during the visit to the USA. In the US, Prime Minister Khan had held an important meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Malaysian Prime Minister Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, and the three leaders decided to establish a joint English television channel in the pattern. from the BBC. "The joint television channel will help promote the true face of moderate Islam and dilute the false narrative of Islamophobia," he added.
The cabinet decided to fill the vacancies of Quaid-i-Azam in international universities so that Pakistan's values, tradition and soft image could be promoted abroad.
