"The Islam fight was definitely what I wanted and what I felt would have been good for Islam as well as me and it would have been good for the company and the whole world could have seen it. For some reason, we’ve had the conversation, but Hunter Campbell feels different and Hunter Campbell wants to say, ‘Maybe not.’ We don’t know yet. They haven’t come out yet and said Islam is going to get this guy or Islam is going to get with me. It was a back-and-forth flurry to get that done.”
“Potentially, other things have been presented to me just as ‘DDP’ has been presented to me and others,” Usman said. "Listen, there’s one thing about me, if they call me and say this guy, that guy, this guy, I’m not going, I’m going, ‘Uh, maybe, maybe, maybe, maybe’. What’s important about this to me is that it has to mean something. It has to mean something at this point. I’m not just here to fight. It has to mean something. If I get the title I want, that’s what I want.”
