Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot AI Assistant is expected to arrive on Xbox Series X and Series S consoles by the end of this year. Adding an AI-based assistant or assistant will enhance your console experience.
The announcement was made by Sonali Yadav, Product Manager, Game AI Partner Group at Xbox, during a panel at the Game Developers Conference. The feature is already available in beta on computer, mobile, and ROG Xbox Ally, but it’s being extended to consoles for the first time (via GamesRadar).

What does Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot AI Assistant do?
For those keeping up, the Gaming Copilot AI assistant is like a friend who has already watched all your walkthrough and mission videos, never gets tired of asking you stupid questions, and won’t judge you for being stuck on the same level or mission for hours.
In addition to answering questions about the game or quest you’re currently playing, Game Assistant can also retrieve your personalized player history and Game Pass subscription details (whenever needed).
If you follow News Feed, you probably already know that Google has already started rolling out a similar feature.

Xbox isn’t the only one doing this
It’s called Play Games Sidekick and it’s an in-game helper for Android games powered by Gemini. We can also provide tips, tricks, and live guidance for the game you are playing.
Whether it’s the Gaming Copilot AI Assistant or the Play Games Sidekick, both place live, breathing AI within the game that comes to life alongside the characters. It would be no exaggeration to say that the AI gaming assistant arms race is almost underway.
Microsoft’s Gaming Copilot is running in beta on non-console platforms, but reaching Xbox console users is an important step. There’s no specific release date, but it’s clear that Microsoft hopes to leverage its AI gaming assistant to achieve better results.
