Scottie Pippen Has Been Trying To Sell This Opulent Florida Mansion For Over A Decade

Legendary Chicago Bull Scottie Pippen is back in the news thanks to ESPN's critically acclaimed documentary The last Dance, about Michael Jordan and the rest of the Bulls phenomenon from the 1990s. Which means that celebrity real estate fans may be interested to know that Pippen has been trying to sell an impressive mansion he built in Fort Lauderdale. , FL in the early 2000s for over ten years.

Pippen bought the property in 2000 when it was just an empty lot, disbursed $ 1.3 million, and then built a 13,000-square-foot mansion. There, he and his family evidently lived happily for about ten years, but in 2010 they put it up for sale with a starting price of $ 16 million. Then, the following year, that price dropped to $ 13.5 million. In 2016, the price dropped once again, this time to $ 12.5 million, and in an unusual step in the real estate world, Pippen even launched his yacht at no additional cost. Somehow, a buyer for the house hasn't been found at that price yet, and as of this writing it is listed for $ 9.8 million, and Pippen has also been making the mansion available as a luxury rental to about $ 40,000 per month.

Why has Pippen found it so difficult to sell this clearly exceptional mansion (designed by famed architect Randall Stofft) that it can be attributed to a number of factors, including fluctuating supply and demand in the luxury home market in the area and just bad luck. But it's certainly not because the house itself isn't suited to any of the above requested prices over the years, with its gorgeous Venetian-style design and a host of amenities, including a game room, game room, facilities, luxury gourmet kitchen, large pool and, of course, a basketball court.

Let's hope that Pippen's decade-long effort to sell his Fort Lauderdale home comes to a successful conclusion in the near future. But in the meantime, you can check out the mansion in the video below from estate agent Gilles Rais:
