April 22, 2020 marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, which celebrates the environmental movement every year. According to EarthDay.org, about 20 million Americans gathered in 1970 to demand greater attention to protecting the planet. Since then, activists from around the world have gathered every year to celebrate the day.
Ironically, Earth Day of the Year is going on as one of the most widespread and deadly epidemics in the world for generations. As a result, we had to cancel all meetings or other direct events. But that doesn't mean you can't celebrate the event at the shelter.
The Earth Day website has thousands of programs from all over the world. All will be held on Wednesday, April 22, unless otherwise specified. Samples include:
Earth Day Live 2020
