AJK lifts restrictions on prayers in mosques – Pakistan

MUZAFFARABAD: The AJK government has decided that daily and Friday prayers, as well as Taraweeh, will not be prohibited.

The decision was announced after Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider held a meeting with religious scholars and prayer leaders.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister announced that he would lift restrictions on the gathering of more than five faithful in mosques.

Information technology minister Dr. Mustafa Bashir Abbasi said prayer leaders and religious scholars will have to ensure precautionary measures, including removing carpets for a certain period, disinfecting sprays five times a day and a three foot space between each faithful who should wear masks. .

In response to a question, Abbasi said that since the federal government was about to allow the return of stranded Pakistanis and Kashmiris from different countries in the coming days, the AJK government had prepared a plan for the transportation of AJK citizens. .

"These travelers will first go to a week's quarantine at their respective port of entry, such as Islamabad or Lahore, after which they will be allowed to travel to AJK, but only after obtaining two negative results from the concerned health authorities," he said. .

"At AJK, they will have to go through another quarantine for a week, either at their homes or at state-run quarantine centers," he said.

Meanwhile, no suspected patient tested positive for Covid-19 at AJK in the past 48 hours, a cabinet member said Thursday.
