Mathews, Chandimal to tour Pakistan as Sri Lanka name full-strength Test squad

Pakistan will hold test cricket for more than 10 years compared to Sri Lanka's full lineup in December 2019.

Dimuth Karunaratne leads Sri Lanka to introduce experienced batters Angelo Mathews and Dinesh Chandimal from 16 teams. The team departs for Pakistan on December 8 and plays two games to participate in the World Test Championship.

In less than three months, Sri Lanka traveled to Pakistan for a series of limited edition matches, but ten famous players opposed the trip.

The test series was originally scheduled for a neutral location in October due to security concerns, but the PCB asked Sri Lanka to play the entire bilateral series in Pakistan. The white ball game was a kind of test of the security measures taken by the organizers, and Sri Lanka agreed to conduct tests in Pakistan as well, following the success of this tour.

There was only one change for the Sri Lankan team, who did a second test of New Zealand at home in August. Right-handed fast bowler Kasun Rajitha replaced leg spinner Akila Dananjaya, who is currently suspended for a year for illegal activity.

The first test begins in Rawalpindi on December 11th, and the second test runs in Karachi from December 19th.

Pakistan has not held test matches that have hurt several Sri Lankan cricketers, support staff and other supporters since the 2009 Lahore attack. Suranga Lakmal, a fast bowler among current players, was part of the Sri Lankan team at the time.
