The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) on Sunday condemned the restrictions imposed by the Indian authorities on congregations in Kashmir occupied in Eid Milad-un-Nabi.

"All the roads leading to the Hazratbal Shrine in Srinagar and other shrines and sacred mosques in India, Jammu and Kashmir, were sealed by the Indian occupation forces to stop any procession on this auspicious occasion, which Kashmiris traditionally observe with great fervor ". read a statement issued by the FO.

"The imposition of restrictions on celebrations and other congregations on the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) represents a total disrespect for the feelings of Muslims in occupied Kashmir. It is also a flagrant violation of their fundamental freedom of religion," he added.

The FO urged the international community, the United Nations and other human rights organizations to take note of the brutal repression of the religious rights and freedoms of the Kashmir people in violation of international laws and conventions.

"For more than fourteen weeks, more than 8 million cashmere are under the inhuman blockade of more than 900,000 Indian occupation forces," the statement said.

He called on the Indian government to immediately restore internet and mobile phone services, free all prisoners, including members of civil society, "especially kidnapped youth," eliminate article 144, the Public Security Law and other laws. draconians, and allow independent and international human rights observers to visit the region to independently observe the welfare of the people of Kashmir.

"The government of India cannot repress the aspirations of the people of Kashmir occupied by India for exercising their right to self-determination as enshrined in the resolutions of the UN Security Council," the statement concluded.
