PPP unhappy over Fazl’s support for PTI candidate in Sindh

ISLAMABAD: The cracks within the ranks of the opposition began to emerge before the long anti-government march, as the Popular Party of Pakistan (PPP) requested a clarification of the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI-F) on Monday Act of support to Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the next partial elections in a seat of the Larkana Sindh Assembly.

The president of the PPP Sindh chapter, Nisar Khuhro, through a video message expressed surprise at the JUI-F's policy of opposing the PTI in the Center and supporting the same party in the province, saying that this policy did not match the stature of Maulana Fazlur Rehman.

“I dare to ask Maulana Fazlur Rehman (head of JUI-F) this question. Are you with the PTI or against it? ”Said Mr. Khuhro alleging that the Sindh chapter of the JUI-F had made an alliance with the PTI in the partial election to be held for the seat of the provincial assembly of Larkana (PS-11) on October 17.

Khuhro says it is a dual policy of JUI-F to be the opponent of PTI in the center and an ally in the province

"It is a dual policy of the JUI-F to be the opponent of the PTI in the Center and an ally in Sindh," Khuhro said.

He said the PPP was facilitating the JUI-F for "Azadi March" in Sindh on the directives of party president Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari. The JUI-F, he said, was receiving all possible help from the Sindh government for its "Azadi March", but was campaigning against the PPP in the partial elections.

"PPP Jiyalas (activists) are angry and frustrated by Maulana Fazlur Rehman's double policy," added Mr. Khuhro. He said Maulana should respond if Larkana's local leadership was acting on his own and violating party discipline or if he was in line with party politics.

Despite repeated attempts, no one from JUI-F could be reached for comment on the situation that arose after the PPP leader's statement.

The relationship between the JUI-F and the PPP grew sour last month after the latter refused to join the long anti-government march and the leaders of both parties openly accused themselves of playing politics in this regard.

It was the JUI-F who first accused the PPP of adopting a double standard on the issue of the long march, saying that, on the one hand, the PPP considered the long unconstitutional and illegal march and, on the other, it was extending the moral and political support to it.

The secretary of information of the JUI-F, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, said that when the PPP faced victimization despite creating a crack within the ranks of the opposition to appease certain forces, party leaders went to Maulana Fazlur Rehman and asked him to launch a protest campaign against the PTI government.

The sources said that the leadership of the JUI-F was not happy with certain observations made by the president of the PPP about his long planned march. The sources said that the leaders of the JUI-F had taken Bhutto-Zardari's statements into account during a press conference in which he declared that he was not participating in the JUI-F protest sit-in, since he did not want to become in a "moulvi & # 39 ;.

Speaking at a press conference after chairing a meeting of the central party committee in Islamabad on September 19, Bhutto-Zardari ruled out the possibility of joining the long march planned by the JUI-F.

“I don't want to do dharna policy. I want to do Shaheed Benazir Bhutto's policy. Why do you want me to become a moulvi? ”, The PPP president had said in response to a question as to why the party was escaping from the JUI-F anti-government protest.

The head of the JUI-F had announced on August 25 that his party had planned a decisive and long march towards Islamabad with the aim of overthrowing the current "false government" in October.

He then announced that the long march of the JUI-F would begin on October 27 and then declared that the participants of the march would enter Islamabad on October 31.

The head of the JUI-F, whose party had initially decided to boycott parliament after last year's general elections, has been pressuring the other opposition parties to initiate a decisive move to evict the government, but so far it has not managed to get a positive result. their response, mainly from PPP and PML-N.
