ISLAMABAD – Pakistan's Tehreek-e-Insaf-led federal government rejected summaries sent by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday and decided to maintain existing oil prices.
According to official notice, oil prices have risen in international markets.
The Treasury notice added that oil prices are expected to rise internationally from mid-December, and that price increases will continue until November.
OGRA suggests oil price cuts in October
Earlier, OGRA, according to a summary sent to the petroleum sector on Friday, recommended cutting fuel prices while reducing 20 million luters of gasoline.
The authorities also recommended reducing the price of diesel and light diesel oil to Rs3.23 and Rs2.41, respectively.
