SAN FRANCISCO: Apple is creating a cinema alliance in November that allows cinema debuts for movies produced for a set of online streaming services, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.
The journal quoted an anonymous source and said Apple hopes theatrical version will increase the reputation of the service and attract the film industry's talent to Apple TV +.
Apple did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
Theatrical editions also receive major industry award-winning TV + movies. Streaming rivals Netflix and Amazon Prime announced their original film in the theater with their award-winning work.
The Apple TV + service will be available for $ 4.99 per month in more than 100 countries on November 1, and will include a "powerful and inspiring original show, film and documentary lineup."
Apple's streaming service offers limited content at first, but the price is less than $ 6.99 for the upcoming Disney + service, and it's more expensive for Netflix.
Apple offers children's programs as well as scripted dramas, comedies and movies, and will compete with streaming giants such as Netflix and Amazon.
Apple recently announced that customers who purchased an iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, iPod touch, or Mac will receive a free first year of service.
