Three seniors from the Pakistan Army have been convicted of charges of indiscipline and misconduct, including abuse of authority and participation in illegal activities, Public Relations Between Services announced Friday.
"On [being] found guilty of the charges against them, the three [have been] fired from the service while two [have] also [been] granted rigorous imprisonment for two years each, "said the military media wing.
"The charges included misuse of authority and participation in improper illegal activities of an officer," said the ISPR.
However, the exact nature of the charges has not been specified, and it is not clear exactly what the three officers were found guilty.
In August, the army chief, General Qamar Bajwa, ratified the life sentence of an army officer after he was convicted of misuse of authority.
"The Pakistan Army alive for its institutional responsibility system has dismissed the service officer and sent him to jail for life," said a brief statement issued by ISPR without naming the person against whom the verdict was issued.
In early May, a former retired army officer Brig Raja Rizwan and a civil servant from a military institution, Dr. Wasim Akram, were sentenced to death, and a retired lieutenant general was sentenced to 14 years Javed Iqbal for espionage.
Those officers were tried under the Pakistan Army Law (PAA) and the Official Secrets Law.
