About Hansen Leadership Institute

Known as the Hansen Summer Leadership and International Cooperation, the Hansen Leadership Institute is an international program for international and American students to build leadership skills and expand their cultural knowledge. The Hansen Leadership Institute is funded by a donation from the Fred J. Hansen Foundation. The Institute offers a unique college-based leadership experience and program in international collaboration. Encourage young scholars to spend their summer free time, acquiring skills and knowledge that will sustain the friendship created by the institute within the international community and encourage a more peaceful world.

The Hansen Leadership Institute has been named one of the top 10 summer clubs for two consecutive years, according to ProFellows's database. This database lists summer companionships for people of all backgrounds, disciplines, and career levels in the United States and abroad.

Hansen Leadership Institute is different from other leadership summits and conferences. The Institute's phenomenal planning team does a special job of identifying the critical skills and competencies of young and attention-grabbing leaders in a fast-changing world.

The Hansen Leadership Institute is held at the University of California, San Diego. The program is held in July each year and lasts three weeks, with five outstanding American men and women and 20 young students from various developing and social conflict areas.

Students participating in the Hansen Leadership Institute will gain an immersive learning experience on peace building, social entrepreneurship and leadership topics. The program includes collaborative hands-on training for team building, public speaking, negotiations, mediation and international problem solving. Eligibility

The program is open to undergraduate and graduate students both in the United States and in developing countries and regions around the world. However, there are qualifications that applicants of the Hansen Leadership Institute must meet.     • Have a valid international passport with a US visa if necessary until the program starts.

Priority may be given to applicants who have never visited the United States, but all eligible students are encouraged to apply.

  • American students (students at all universities in the United States)

All participants of the Hansen Leadership Institute are required to attend the entire program. Participants cannot arrive early in the holiday.
