Short courses are a great option for acquiring new skills or improving (or refreshing) existing skills in the short term. Taking a short course is the perfect option for students and professionals who do not want or do not have the full qualification to take up to four years. Short courses can be completed within a few months or up to one year.
Many Australian higher education institutions offer short courses for both domestic and international students and professionals. Some institutions also offer scholarships to help students study. Even the Australian government has its own funding program.

Australian Awards Course for African Awards
The Australian Awards aim to promote knowledge, educational links and lasting ties between Australia and the surrounding region through Australia's extensive scholarship program. This initiative aims to foster next generation global leaders through strong links with Australia.
The Australian Awards are representatives of the Australian Development Cooperation Program and are an important competence in Australia's educational investment. Scholarships have been an important component of Australia's efforts to reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development opportunities for citizens in developing countries around the world. It aims to provide enhanced leadership, knowledge and skills to provide partnerships to governments, tertiary institutions and strategic institutions that are promoting sustainable development.
In Africa, the Australian Government offers scholarships under the Australian Professional Awards to ensure that African professionals receive long-term and short-term training to acquire new skills and knowledge.
The Australian Award Short Course is an intensive training program for selected cohorts to address specific skills or soft skills gaps. The program is an official study or educational opportunity, typically less than three months, offered by an Australian higher education institution or an Australian registered educational institution that is approved in Australia and / or partner countries. The Australian Award Short Course is administered and administered by DFAT's International Post.
Short-term courses offer short-term postgraduate training opportunities offered in Australia and / or Africa for up to five weeks. This training is aimed at skilled employees of African public, private and civil society organizations in the fields of agriculture, extraction and public policy.

Destination Australia Program
The Destination Australia program aims to attract and support international and international students to study in Australia, grow and develop local Australian higher education institutions and provide students with a quality learning experience. Destination Australia is funded by the Department of Education's Performance 2.7 – International Education Support. The goal of outcome 2.7 is to support the sustainable growth of Australia's high-quality international education, education and research through strong intergovernmental engagement, strategic policies and laws.
Each year, $ 15,000 per scholarship and $ 1,000 for scholarship promotions and administrative support are awarded to successful providers who run scholarships and awards. Higher education institutions must award scholarships to students who study one of the following qualification levels full-time during the scholarship period.

Students may not apply for scholarships directly through the Community Grants Hub. Once the results of the grant process are known, students can apply for scholarships directly to successful higher education institutions.
Grants may only be used for eligible expenses incurred between the start date and end or completion date of the Eligible Grant Activity.
Eligible spend items include:
- Marketing, Promotion, and Management Costs — $ 1,500 per annual scholarship
- Scholarships — $ 15,000 to be distributed annually to eligible freshmen.
