Australian Awards Course for African Awards

The Australian Award Short Course is an intensive training program for selected cohorts to address specific skills or soft skills gaps. The program is an official study or educational opportunity, typically less than three months, offered by an Australian higher education institution or an Australian registered educational institution that is approved in Australia and / or partner countries. The Australian Award Short Course is administered and administered by DFAT's International Post.

Destination Australia Program

The Destination Australia program aims to attract and support international and international students to study in Australia, grow and develop local Australian higher education institutions and provide students with a quality learning experience. Destination Australia is funded by the Department of Education's Performance 2.7 – International Education Support. The goal of outcome 2.7 is to support the sustainable growth of Australia's high-quality international education, education and research through strong intergovernmental engagement, strategic policies and laws.

Each year, $ 15,000 per scholarship and $ 1,000 for scholarship promotions and administrative support are awarded to successful providers who run scholarships and awards. Higher education institutions must award scholarships to students who study one of the following qualification levels full-time during the scholarship period.

Grants may only be used for eligible expenses incurred between the start date and end or completion date of the Eligible Grant Activity.

Eligible spend items include:

  • Marketing, Promotion, and Management Costs — $ 1,500 per annual scholarship
  • Scholarships — $ 15,000 to be distributed annually to eligible freshmen.
