A plane carrying Prime Minister Imran Khan and his entourage returned to New York on Friday night after developing a technical failure while heading to Pakistan.
The prime minister took off from the Kennedy International Airport in New York on Friday night in a special plane made available by the Saudi government, but flew in a couple of hours to solve the problem.

Pakistan's ambassador to the United Nations, Maleeha Lodhi, who had fired Prime Minister Imran, hastened to return to the airport to be at hand.
The prime minister, who led the delegation of Pakistan to the 74th session of the UN General Assembly, waited at the airport for a while while the technicians tried to solve the fault, but more work was needed and they decided to complete it on Saturday by the tomorrow.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Lodhi escorted the Prime Minister back to the Roosevelt Hotel where he was staying during his hectic seven-day trip.
Authorities said that if the plane was not repaired in the morning, the prime minister would take a commercial flight back to Pakistan, where he is eager to visit the areas affected by the earthquake and visit the affected families.
During his "Kashmir Mission" visit to New York, the Prime Minister addressed the UNGA of 193 members, attended the UN summit meetings, met with several world leaders outside the session, including The president of the United States, Donald Trump, addressed groups of experts and interacted with international media.
Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader from Pakistan, Naeemul Haque, also confirmed the technical failure and announced that the prime minister would spend the night at the hotel in New York.
