According to seasonally adjusted government data, Houston's economy added 8,200 jobs in May.
The unemployment rate in the Houston-The Woodlands-Saga Land Metro area was the lowest at 3.2{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5}, the Texas Labor Commission reported Friday.
In the past 12 months, the local economy added 79,800 jobs, an increase of 2.6{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} year over year.

According to the "seasonal adjustment data," Texas added 19,600 jobs in May, state unemployment set a record low of 3.5{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5}, and a low of 3.7{7be40b84a6a43fc4fae13304fce9a2695859798abfc41afd127b9f8b21c5f9c5} in April.
