Islamabad: Climate Change Secretary Zartaj Gul said Monday that the government has a special focus on green initiatives to mitigate environmental risks.
She commented on the formula for the distribution of reusable bags, saying that distribution of biodegradable bags continues in various parts of the federal capital to eliminate the use of polyethylene plastic bags in the city.
The event was observed around the world in cooperation with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), following The Social Good Summit & # 39; & # 39; 2019.
In order to sensitize students to the harmful effects of plastics on the environment, 150 sheets of cloth were distributed.
Children are involved in activities like the future of our country, the minister said.
In developing countries such as Pakistan, green projects such as Clean, Green Pakistan and 1 billion tsunamis are underway, and a plastic bag ban showing government seriousness on green policy, he said.
She praised the roles of civil society activists and UNDP who played an effective role in the Clean and Green Pakistan campaign.
Ignacio Artaza, Pakistan's UNDP head of state, said that because the future of our generation is at stake, there is an urgent need to conserve the earth by protecting the environment.
School children also planted seedlings at the event.
