Samsung Wide Foldable Leak Points to Tablet Style Design

Samsung’s rumored widescreen foldable smartphone has appeared in a new leak revealing several hardware details, including display size, processor, and battery capacity.

This information comes from tipster Digital Chat Station, who has shared the specifications of the upcoming device.

According to the leak, the foldable will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor.

This puts the device in the same performance category as Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

Battery Details

The device is expected to include a dual-cell battery with a typical capacity of around 4,800 mAh.

The leak reveals that the battery is split into two cells rated at 2,267 mAh and 2,393 mAh, resulting in a total minimum capacity of around 4,660 mAh.

Dual-cell battery systems are common in foldable devices because they allow manufacturers to spread the batteries across both halves of the phone.

Display and form factor

The foldable is said to feature a 7.6-inch internal display, which is the same size as the main display used in Samsung’s current Galaxy Z Fold model.

However, the main difference is expected to be the aspect ratio. The device has a shorter, wider design that can create a 4:3 tablet-style layout when unfolded.

A wider external screen can make typing and messaging more comfortable, while an internal display can provide a more natural experience when reading or watching videos.

The leak also suggests that the device will be launched in Samsung’s domestic market, indicating that the company is planning to launch it in the domestic region at least.
