Turkish Defense Minister Yasar Guler spoke by phone with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, according to an official statement.
“During the call, both sides exchanged views on bilateral and regional defense and security issues,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense said in a statement Tuesday.
This phone call took place amid heightened regional tensions due to the U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iran.
Tensions have risen since Israel and the United States launched a joint attack on Iran on February 28, killing about 1,300 people, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
