The perfect rug for the Pokémon fan in your life, which could be you, comes in the form of a giant Snorlax. The Pokémon Company and Japanese rug maker Miyoshi Rug have teamed up to create a new Pokémon-themed rug collection for the game franchise’s 30th anniversary. And no, sorry, you can’t have them.
Miyoshi Rug will capture Snorlax, Ditto, Pikachu’s butt, and a Poké Ball in rug form for a limited collection arriving in March. The Pokémon Collection will arrive on March 8 at 9 pm JST, but you’ll have to jump through hoops to try to get one. Miyoshi Rug sells its Pokémon rugs through a lottery system that you can sign up for through its dedicated store app, which is in Japanese and requires an address in Japan. So, to reiterate, you can’t have these Pokémon rugs.
The good thing is that the perfect rug, that giant Snorlax, is prohibitively expensive, hovering around $700, so you probably didn’t want it anyway. Not at that price! Here’s how much Pokémon Miyoshi rugs cost, if you’re still trying to figure out how to get one:
-
Pikachu rug: ¥13,750 (about $88)
-
Rug Ditto: ¥9,900 (about $63)
-
Poké Ball Chair Mat: ¥5,500 (around $35)
-
Snorlax Rug: ¥110,000 (about $700)
