According to initial reports, the outage occurred when unknown actors gained unauthorized access to the channel’s satellite frequencies, causing technical outages across multiple regions.
Sources told ProPakistani that during the breach, unusual content targeting state institutions in Pakistan appeared on screens. Unauthorized material replaced scheduled programming, raising concerns about the security of broadcast infrastructure and satellite communications systems.
Geo News’ technical team immediately began efforts to restore transmission and remove unauthorized content.
