SHIMLA, India – In a bizarre incident, a stray dog was spotted wandering outside a hospital in the Indian city of Shimla with a severed human leg in its mouth.
Shocking footage released on social media sparked outrage and led to an investigation into the hospital’s handling of medical waste.
The incident occurred near the Atal Institute of Medical Super Specialties where 61-year-old Atter Singh underwent surgery on Thursday.

After his leg was amputated, it was placed in a sealed bag and stored in the hospital warehouse for disposal.
However, on February 22nd, a serious mistake occurred when the warehouse door was accidentally left open and an abandoned dog came in and grabbed the amputated limb.
Shocking footage that quickly went viral shows a dog walking through a hospital playground with its legs raised. Hospital management then launched an investigation into the incident and found serious lapses in waste disposal procedures.
As a result of the investigation, the hospital issued a show-cause notice to the cleaning supervisor and the person responsible for the accident.
