Although Lunar New Year isn’t that close, their magical vibes can start to recharge right away. Christmas trees and Santa Claus costumes are optional, but remember that your favorite movie will be very useful along with the festive atmosphere.
So we’ve chosen 23 movies that will create a great Christmas atmosphere and make you feel like there’s a miracle just around the corner. If we forgot anything, please share your favorite movies in the comments.
1. Love Actually

“Love is all around us. She really is everywhere” – these words begin the movie, and you won’t get tired of them even if you watch them hundreds of times. All of the film’s heroes – a housekeeper, an aging rock star, a bored prime minister, a widower and a lover in love with a porn star – have witnessed something very important. Yes, that’s an exaggeration. Yeah, that doesn’t happen in life. But this movie is a dream, so cynics, please don’t get in my way.
2. home alone

Director Chris Columbus directed the movie ‘Home Alone’ in 1990, and since then there hasn’t been a New Year without expenses. We were all so moved by this touching story of a boy who adapted to a suddenly hostile world and never lost faith in miracles.
3. day off

Wonderful, friendly, life-changing cozy movies are often great in the winter. This is especially true for modern people who do not have the courage to turn off their phones during weekends or movie times. Cameron wants to follow Diac and Kate Winslet’s example and go somewhere out there. And be sure to have an adventure.
4. Bridget Jones’s Diary

We love this movie. It’s a feeling of peace and comfort, so every winter evening we wrap ourselves in a blanket, grab a big mug of cocoa, and spend the rest of the holiday enjoying the story of Bridget Jones, an ordinary girl who boldly dresses up in a bunny costume with sweets and cares little about her surroundings.
5. intuition

“Intuition” – watching the right movie, seeing the right shooting star at the right time. Unobtrusive, on point jokes, great photography, great actors, great Christmas vibes that seep right under your skin. The main character wants to be close to the person he loves, but if not, he dreams of a perfect meeting.
6. christmas story

It’s the only comic in our collection and it deserves it. “A Christmas Carol” – A wonderful adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic animated film, rich in the spirit of Christmas and a poignant story. Thus, the history of Scrooge the financier gives us the opportunity to believe that people who are alien to all goodness, even if deeply disappointed in this world, can again enjoy life and love the magical Christmas holiday.
7. family man

There’s a picture of someone getting shot in the head, expecting to see a typical American comic melodrama. The film ‘The Family Man’ starring Nicolos Cage, ‘disguised’ as a cute Christmas story, brilliantly reveals the themes of family values and happiness in this life, and deserves the applause and gratitude of many viewers.
8. boy name

Amazingly, it’s a weightless movie starring Susan Sarandon and Penelope Cruz. A little depressed, a little tired, a little sad. It all happens on Christmas Eve in New York. It may seem no wonder that human fates are intertwined, but wonder hovers somewhere in the air. It’s rare to come across magic even once a year, but it happens.
9. Lunar New Year

This is a great movie about New Year’s Eve and the love that unites people all over the world. Over the course of two hours per film, we follow eight intertwined ‘tail’ stories that teach us how to love, forgive, let go and appreciate each other. Not to mention the impressive cast and sophisticated music.
10. charlie and the chocolate factory

Tim Burton is still a wizard and his story is truly beautiful in every way. The world of the chocolate factory is detailed here, including scenery, special effects, humor, philosophy, characters, and actors, so I think it will be able to provide a truly festive and happy fuzz.
11. Evening on a farm near Dikanka

There is still no classic era. Watching this brilliant adaptation of Gogol’s “The Night Before Christmas,” it’s easy to forget that it was made almost 50 years ago. All of his characters are so bright and vibrant. He will always be a good story about how the devil amused the Kum-drinkers and blacksmiths to get it for his beloved Oksana Cherevichki, the queen herself.
12. lost christmas

A Christmas story we haven’t seen yet. The magic and tragedy of life are intertwined here, but it doesn’t seem out of place. The movie isn’t your typical Christmas decorations and red-cheeked Santa Claus, but there’s something deep and secret about it. To experience it, give the story completely. Then a Christmas miracle will happen.
13. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

The story of the young wizard Harry Potter and his friends isn’t about Christmas, but imagine the holidays without this movie. Perhaps it is in the general atmosphere of miracles. You might want to put on an invisibility cloak, walk down the mysterious corridors of Hogwarts’ magic wand, and think of a mountain of sweets.
14. 200 cigarettes

If you are bored with cinematic “cakes” and still want to penetrate the party atmosphere, this film is indispensable. Because the screen is not full of happiness, joy and cheerfulness. But with its out-of-the-ordinary humor, its gripping story, and its youth and carelessness, love is free and easy.
15. christmas gifts

The film is a bit naive and implausible, but it’s still a good, playful, funny and truly festive comedy. It’s about what parents can do in their infinite love for their children and in their desire to give them the best gifts. It’s especially cute to see Arnold Schwarzenegger, not fighting a cyborg and the same benevolent father.
16. female

It’s amazing how bright, colorful and emotional a black and white film can be. Optimism is contagious. Majestic views of the Siberian snow and the decidedly playful and vivacious Tossia Kislitsyna. This movie is ideal for the New Year as it can melt the coldest heart and make the most serious or sad person laugh.
17. happy christmas

It’s a truly amazing and incredible combination of war and Christmas. Would it seem as if the general was carrying out this bloody and atrocious act in the name of a bright holiday, peace and love? But miracles can happen even in the trenches if there is at least one person on both sides of the battle who has not lost faith in the best.
18. carnival night

Eldar Ryazanov has been creating masterpieces for many years. “Carnival Nights” – a song that has become a legend, although it packs a huge charge on the screen when you really believe the saying that it is not complicated. We hear the following from the young and attractive Lyudmila Gurchenko: “And the good mood will not last longer than you!”
19. while you sleep

The simplest screenplay, simple partial dialogue, simple acting, yet it’s impossible not to fall in love with this movie. Him and his enchanting warmth, innocence, romance and the eternal theme of Cinderella and the Prince. And even though I know in advance how it will end, I always want to revise this movie.
20. kate and leo

“Kate and Leopold” is a perfect combination of romance and comedy that can only be found in Hollywood. And in the new year, I want all of us to love this story about great feelings, how everyone, regardless of age, country and time, can look wonderful in a special way.
21. magician

This is the most realistic, rare and kind Soviet film that everyone likes to watch. In its acting, music, humor and story, “Wizards” embodies a tremendous belief in miracles and magic. A belief that people have often started to lose recently.
22. A sleepless night in Seattle

This is a film that is amazing in its simplicity, informativeness, and emotion. A true treat for the mind and heart while spending a cozy New Year’s Eve with his heroes. It has everything you need: a cute, lonely protagonist played by Tom Hanks, an average but charming heroine named Meg Ryan, adorable kids, essential quotes from the classics, and a miraculous, soul-warming atmosphere.
23. Irony of fate, or enjoy the bath!

This has become a cult film with equal essential attributes of the Christmas holiday: Christmas tree, Santa Claus, Snow Maiden, champagne and Olivia. This film is not just about love, but also about gratitude and respect. After all, “Irony of Fate” is an eternal source of New Year’s mood that brings people closer to each other every time. Because throughout our vast country there is not a person who has not heard: “How disgusting, this is your fish in jelly!”
