The federal government has officially ordered all private schools and college students in Islamabad from grade 9 to enroll in mandatory digital safety and AI courses.
The latest initiative from the Federal Ministry of Education and Professional Training aims to equip younger generations with essential knowledge of modern AI and cybersecurity, preparing them for an increasingly digital academic and professional environment.
As per the new guidelines issued by ICT-PEIRA, all eligible students in Islamabad Capital Region must activate their education accounts through the official government technology portal by March 8, 2026.
Registration and account activation must be completed immediately, but the Department for Education has provided a flexible window for practical coursework to allow students to complete their assigned modules over the upcoming summer holidays or after their final exams.
This strategic period is designed to ensure that the goal of building digital capacity across the country can be achieved without the disruption of rigorous academic schedules.
The school administration has been advised to expedite this process to ensure that all students from grade 9 and above are enrolled in Pakistan’s growing digitally secure student body.
