VR has come a long way since the days of the Oculus Go, but while VR experiences are pretty great if you can afford it, it hasn’t evolved as much as many people had hoped. Fortunately, there are several modern VR experiences that don’t require a high-end gaming PC to play, such as: Half-Life: AlyxSo, if you don’t want to spend a lot of money, it’s perfect. There are also plenty of great gaming PC deals that include great games that you can buy on Steam instead of buying from a VR marketplace for a specific headset, so you may be able to find a great deal.
Either way, VR headsets can be quite expensive, so we’ve collected some of our favorite deals below. It’s worth checking out these video game deals for a few options as well.
MetaQuest 3S — $370 $400 8% discount

The Meta Quest 3 is pretty good, but if you’re not looking to spend that much money on a VR headset, you might want to consider the Meta Quest 3S, which sits between the Quest 2 and Quest 3. For example, the Quest 3 runs a Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, so it performs well, but you can get an older Fresnel lens running at 1,832 × 1,920 resolution, and it still doesn’t. Too bad. The bundle also includes Batman: Arkham Shadow, which is a great way to get a starter game.

HTC VIVE Pro 2 Headset + Controller — $886 $899 1% discount

The HTC VIVE Pro 2 is a slightly older VR headset, but it’s a solid option if you don’t want to use the Quest. It has a combined 4896 x 2448 resolution, a very nice 120-degree viewing angle, and a very solid 90Hz refresh rate, which helps a lot with issues like vertigo. Hand tracking is also pretty good, probably not as good as the Quest 2 or 3. There are several ways to wear the headset depending on how you plan to use it. Like Quest, it can run in standalone mode without the need for a PC connection. However, there are far fewer app options and the HTC VIVE Pro 2 is actually made more for connecting to a PC.

Learn more about VR trading
Just a few years ago, the biggest companies in the VR headset market were HTC and Oculus. However, there are numerous head-mounted displays on the market today across a variety of brands, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, and Samsung. Even Sony threw its hat in the towel in the form of a PlayStation VR headset. As competition in the VR hardware market intensifies, the overall quality of headsets has further improved, and the increasing number of headset options is good news for gamers and deal hunters alike.
Typically, some of the best deals can be found at third-party retailers, including Amazon and Walmart. However, the biggest players in the market, HTC and Oculus, are offering special promotions on their websites. Most notably, both companies are offering steep price cuts on their newest products, the HTC Vive Cosmos and Oculus Quest, and in each case are bundling additional items with the headsets.
