Dispute with Sushil Kumar
Kala Jathedi was a close friend of national wrestler Sushil Kumar. However, Sushil Kumar has been named as one of the 12 people accused in the murder case of junior wrestler Sagar Dhankar. On May 4, 2021, Kala Jathedi’s nephew Sonu Mahal was also beaten up by Sushil Kumar during the murder of Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium. After assaulting his nephew, Kala Jathedi continued to issue death threats to Sushil Kumar, prompting the Delhi Police to shift Sushil Kumar from Mandoli Jail to Tihar Jail.
