11 farmers killed as speeding coach rams into motorbike rickshaw in Matiari – Pakistan

Eleven farm workers were killed and five other travelers were injured Thursday in a road accident on the national highway near the Saeedabad area of ​​the Matiari district.

The deceased were heading to the waterfront in the Matiari district for the harvest of the banana crop. They were said to be residents of the Pir Bux Khoso village of Matiari.

"A high-speed coach from Punjab crashed into the motorcycle rickshaw transporting farm workers," said Matiari Senior Police Superintendent Asif Bughio. He said the incident happened early Thursday morning. The bus driver managed to escape, he added.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the village of Pir Bux Khoso in Saeedabad by the police. The injured were taken to the government hospital in the adjoining district of Benazirabad.

The deceased belonged to the Khoso and Kohli communities. They were identified as Shamshad, son of Mohammad Siddique Khoso; Sher, son of Nabi Bux Khoso; Majnoo, son of Dodo Khoso; Imran, son of Mohammad Yousuf Khoso; Irshad, son of Nabi Bux Khoso; Walo, son of the hero Kohli; Jamil, son of Naji Kohli; Kano, son of Sugan Kohli; Tamachi, son of Harchand Kohli; Bouo, son of Cheetan Kohli; and Jaimo, son of Sugar Kohli.

Among those injured, those seriously injured were identified as Diyaram, son of Cheetan Kohli; Parmo, son of Lagdeer; and Saeed Ahmed, son of Deen Mohammad, a passenger on the bus. The police have confiscated the bus.

Farm workers had gone to the waterfront to harvest early in the morning. Banana cultivation is grown on a large scale within the Katcha area (riverside).
