Zardari’s examination by private doctors urged – Pakistan

RAWALPINDI: The leader of the Popular Party of Pakistan, Latif Khosa, has asked that a panel of private doctors be allowed to examine the leader and former president of PPP jailed Asif Ali Zardari.

In a request filed Wednesday to the superintendent of the Adiala prison, Mr. Zardari's lawyer said doctors can be allowed to medically examine their client and can also be provided to perform any evidence required to safeguard his life.

Khosa, former governor of Punjab, said the PPP co-president was about 65 years old and suffered multiple medical problems for a long time, as has also been observed by the board of doctors constituted by the government by court order. from August 20 of this year.

He said that Mr. Zardari's medical condition and the persecutory nature of the false and politically motivated case deserve that doctors of his choice and medical experts allow him to examine him at his own expense, as provided by the Constitution and the law.

He said that other NAB prisoners with a similar balance have been granted access to private doctors of their choice, which also entitles the former president to similar treatment under Article 25 of the Constitution.

Meanwhile, PPP spokesman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, a spokesman for Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, said Zardari was seriously ill and that the government should allow private doctors and their own doctors to examine him.

He said the PPP co-president's sugar level was decreasing rapidly and he was suffering from a critical heart disease that needed medical attention.
