No batsman showed responsibility like Babar: Shoaib Akhtar – Newspaper

ISLAMABAD: Disappointed by the loss of Pakistan's team in the second Twenty20 International against Australia in Canberra on Tuesday, former sprinter Shoaib Akhtar said there are no hitters on the team who can take responsibility as Captain Babar Azam.

“I feel disappointed for Pakistan and especially for Babar, who played superbly in the two T20s. There is no hitter who can take command as Babar, ”Shoaib said on his YouTube channel.

Upon opening the tickets, right-handed Babar hit a 50 of 38 balls on Tuesday. The young man born in Lahore had shattered 59 not Sunday in the first T20 in Sydney that was razed.

"It saddens me that Babar [batting] the efforts were in vain, ”Shoaib lamented.

Shoaib, known as Rawalpindi Express, said the wicket was tough and had even bounced, but Pakistan hitters couldn't take advantage of it. "The ball came very well in the bat, but the Pakistani starters could not capitalize on that," he said and added that the tour hitters showed no sense of maturity in the construction of the entrances.

"Pakistan could have easily obtained 200 or more in that particular position," Shoaib calculated. "But our hitters Haris Sohail, Fakhar Zaman and Mohammad Rizwan lacked the maturity shown by [Australian batsman] Steve Smith later, "he observed.

Shoaib said the pacemaker Mohammad Amir played well but Mohammad Irfan was struggling due to his leg problems. "Management should have thought twice before choosing Irfan on the team," he said.
