Wal-Mart maintained Amazon's second place while maintaining the Black Friday crown in 2018, but led Cyber Monday. It remains to be seen whether Wal-Mart is ahead of Amazon in Black Friday's total sales for 2019. But regardless of the final rankings, you can expect a great deal from Mega Store in almost every category, from toys and tools to 4K TVs and Apple smartwatches.
Other traders are attracting shoppers who often look around and spend more money on products such as Amazon's deals, especially Instant Pots, Dyson vacuums, and Kurigg coffee makers. Walmart does not pre-advertise specific Black Friday sales for competitive reasons, but we are updating this page with as much information as possible. Check back often for the latest updates.
What to expect at Walmart
You can look back over the past 12 months to find clues about Wal-Mart's best Black Friday trading categories. Last year, Walmart focused on electronics, including smartphones, smart home products, notebook computers, tablets, and small kitchen appliances. It's no secret that Wal-Mart is usually the best choice for 4K TVs and offering the lowest prices, even on regular shopping days.
If there is something on the wish list that Walmart offers at a good price in the early days of Black Friday, I suggest you jump right in. Despite the huge inventory that Wal-Mart and other merchants have built for Black Friday, the hottest deals can sell out quickly.
However, if you can no longer ship the desired item online, you can take advantage of the transaction price a bit further by picking up local stores. This is an important advantage for Walmart over Amazon.
What I saw at last black friday Wal-Mart
It is unlikely that other stores will match Walmart's prices on their smartphones, and this store historically offered the cheapest large 4K TVs from major brands. Especially for TVs and smartphones, we will be adding smartwatches this year. If you are on the list, watch Walmart (and this post) as the next few weeks progress.
Last year we saw some amazing deals, including a short-term deal for a limited quantity of 4K TVs you can find anywhere else, including Black Friday Wal-Mart, for weeks on the way to Black Friday.
Also in 2018, the price of some items, especially some others, including Instant Pots and robotic vacuum cleaners, has changed dramatically. We expect Walmart to respond quickly when a major retailer launches a price war with certain products.
